Rey-inspired PVC Quarterstaff DIY
Welcome back! I have another prop build for the ladies! My 8 y/o daughter loves Daisy Ridley’s character: Rey in “The Force Awakens”. She has decided that she would like to dress-up as Rey for Halloween this year. We were able to put together Rey’s costume with various fabrics and dyes. We were in need of a realistic looking quarterstaff. My daughter and I set out for our favorite prop supply store: Home Depot. Using various PVC components, we were able to come up with an authentic looking staff that accents her costume well. If you are looking for a fun prop build, check out the video below:
Materials from Home Depot
1″ PVC Pipe (10 feet)
1 & 1/4″ PVC Pipe (2 feet)
2 x 1″ PVC Compression Couplings
2 x 1 & 1/4″ Couplings
2 x 1 & 1/2″ Solvent Weld Trap Adapters
Flexible Protective Conduit
2 x 3/4″ D-rings
2 x 1″ PVC Cap (if you have a Dremel)
2 x 1″ PVC Socket Cap (if you do NOT have a Dremel)

You can wipe the lettering off with acetone I keep fingernail polish remover around for this
Thank you for the tip! I’m definitely going to try this on the next PVC build. I would imagine that removing with acetone leaves a lot less scratches than sandpaper 🙂 Again, thank you, I want to give it a try!
